Obituary For Vivian P. Tarangelo

Vivian P. Tarangelo, 92, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on April 30, 2024.

Vivian was born on November 1, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY, the only child of Josephine and Michael Morgano. She graduated from Lafayette High School in Brooklyn and worked as a secretary. Vivian married Carmine Tarangelo on February 7, 1953, and they moved to Staten Island in 1962, where she lived for the next sixty-two years. She was a loving mother to her three sons and a homemaker until 1974, when she returned to secretarial jobs in Manhattan for several companies before working for Fiduciary Trust for over twenty years until 1998.

Vivian enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, seeing musicals and Broadway shows, and her family book club. She was extremely organized and mentally sharp throughout her life. Having come from a small family, she cherished her husband's large family and every family gathering. A devout Catholic, she continued to watch Mass on television when she could no longer go to church in person.

Vivian was predeceased by her eldest son, John, in 2007 and by her husband in 2015. Vivian is survived by her children Tommy and James, her daughter-in-laws Rebecca Davis and Janet Tarangelo, and her grandchildren Amy, Michael, Zoe, Juniper, and Alexander Tarangelo.
