Obituary For Rosalie Catherine Martorano

Rosalie Catherine Martorano was born April 6, 1940 to Marion and Angelo Martorano. She lived in Brooklyn before moving to Grasmere Staten Island.

A graduate of St Joseph Hill Academy High School, and Notre Dame College,Staten Island. Rosalie was a biology major who worked at Memorial Hospital in Manhattan before becoming a junior high school biology teacher on Staten Island. She held masters degree.

Rosalie enjoyed music of all kinds, including country, and especially Italian opera. She loved attending operas at the Met and took many opera appreciation courses.

She was active in many cultural and community organizations including the Cameron Club of Staten Island.
Rosalie was creative and artistic. She collected dolls, beautiful clothes and good friends.

A parishioner of Saint Sylvester‘s Roman Catholic Church in Concord, Rosalie lived her faith.

Rosalie was an enthusiastic supporter of many causes especially Saint Judes Children’s Hospital , St Joseph Hill Academy High school, and the Grasmere and Cameron Lakes Bluebelt Conservancy

She is survived by a godson and goddaughter, and by many loving cousins and friends

Friends will be received Sunday February 4th

4 pm - 8 pm

Funeral Monday February 5th

8:45 am visiting at funeral home.

Mass St. Sylvester's Church 10 am.

Interment Moravian Cemetery.
