Obituary For Maryann Lattinellli

Staten Island, NY- Beloved Mother, Wife, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

Maryann Lattinelli of Todt Hill, S.I., passed away peacefully and surrounded by family Sunday June 30, 2024 at Staten Island University Hospital. She was 79 years old.

Maryann was born on March 18, 1945 to Mary Montemuro and Joseph Cafaro. She grew up with her older brother Anthony Cafaro on her beloved 70th street in Brooklyn, NY.

On September 27, 1964 Maryann married the love of her life Carlo Lattinelli. Together they moved to Staten Island, had 3 children, traveled and enjoyed a beautiful life together. Maryann was happiest around her family, cooking Sunday dinners and loved a good Christmas Eve party. The ultimate homemaker, Maryann’s happiness revolved around the happiness of her family. Whatever was needed and whenever it was needed, she made it happen. She was a staunch believer in education and helped her grandchildren realize their goals of a higher education…nothing made her more proud.

Maryann was also a great lover of food, whether it was cooking for her family or taking part in the pleasure of eating. She knew her way around a T-bone steak and never met a plate of French fries she didn’t like. Her pasta fagioli, fried potatoes , turkey and mashed potatoes will be passed down through the generations but never quite duplicated. A class act to the end, Maryann will be remembered for her elegance, her quiet resilience, her generosity and her unwavering love and commitment to her family.

Maryann is survived by her children, Carla Lattinelli, Cristina and Joseph Laforte, Joseph and Lauren Lattinelli. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Alyssa Berteletti, Joseph, Carlo and Mia Laforte, Emma and Luca Lattinelli, and 1 great grandchild Carlo Berteletti as well as many cousins especially Carol Equo and her nephew AJ Cafaro. She is predeceased by her loving spouse of 54 years Carlo Lattinelli and brother Anthony Cafaro.

Maryann and I go back some 50 years. Although not a biological member of the family, she and Carlo, as the rest of the family did, welcomed me with open, loving arms. We didn't talk as much since I moved to New Orleans we always remembered our birthdays and ho!idays. We saw each other last October. She was a beautiful person who absolutely loved her family. She was extremely protective and would give everything she could to ensure their happiness. I loved you and will miss you something terrible. Rest in the loving arms of the love of your life, Carlo.
