Our hearts are heavy at this time. We did not know Lorraine long enough, but long enough to know her smile and feel her warmth. She welcomed our family to join hers and she will be remembered fondly by all the Bywaters. Love to you all.

It is with great sadness and tremendous honor that I share a few words about my beautiful Mother Lorraine. I am extremely fortunate and appreciative for all the memories I got to share with my Mom. Living together over the past three years enabled us to spend a great deal of time together, reconnect and developed a truly unique and special bond that I am forever grateful for. I would shop for her, take her to get her hair done at the beauty parlor, drop her off to go play cards with her girlfriends and we would sit together for dinner on most evenings. And it soon began to feel as though my Mom had become reliant on me, but I now realize with her passing, that our dependence on each other was mutual. There were times when I'd get caught up late at work, or stuck in heavy traffic, and I could literally set my watch to her phone call... "Robbie where are you... Honey it's getting late, is everything ok?" And I would say to myself, come on Mom, you know I'm ok, I'm not a little boy anymore, but that was just her Motherly love and concern. I'm going to miss those calls! My mom's favorite TV shows were B&W old cowboy movies and BET tv - I'm going to miss teasing her about TV shows. A Mother's unconditional love is something no one can explain, It is made of deep devotion, and of sacrifice and pain. It is endless and unselfish, and enduring come what may, For nothing can destroy it or ever take that love away. It is patient and forgiving, when all others are forsaking, And it never fails or wavers, even though the heart is breaking. It believes beyond believing, when the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems. It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation, And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation. A many splendored miracle, that we can never understand, A Mother is the purest evidence, of God's tender guiding hand. I will miss you Mom, more than words can ever say...

"We're going to see Brooklyn" That was the phrase my Dad used when he would tell us we were visiting you all. I will cherish memories at the lake as a little girl, the smile you had for me and the hugs and all of our talks and how much you helped me when my Mom passed. I will keep you all in my prayers and miss Aunt Lorraine always. - Love, Cousin Rose
