Obituary

Jutta Faustmann, 87, of New Dorp, Staten Island passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday morning, September 9, 2023. Born in Gruenberg, Germany she came to the U.S. and settled in Staten Island in 1961 after moving from Fehrbellin, Germany, where she spent her childhood. She was the oldest of three children born to Luise and Karl Faustmann. Upon moving to the U.S. Jutta began what would become a 40+ year career in accounting at Hapag Lloyd. She also volunteered at Carmel Richmond Nursing Home for 17+ years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and traveling with family. She was also a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stapleton and the New Dorp chapter of the AARP.

Jutta is predeceased by her parents, and her younger brother, Fritz. Surviving her are her younger sister, Anke Drus of New Dorp; niece, Claudia and husband, Eric Jacobs of Bay Head NJ and their children Courtney, Colin and Caroline; and her nephew Karsten Drus and wife, Dr. Kseniya Petrova-Drus of New York, NY and their children, Alexander and Nina.

There will be a viewing at Hanley Funeral Home in New Dorp on Tuesday, September 12 from 4-8pm and a service at the funeral home the following day, Wednesday, September 13 at 10am with burial at Moravian Cemetery thereafter.

She will be greatly missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
