Obituary For Frank Bove

Frank Bove, beloved father, husband, uncle, and friend to many, passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Tina Bove, and their son, Thomas Bove. He was predeceased by his son Dominick Bove, who passed away at age 28, his sister, Susan Bove, and many dear friends and family who were surely waiting to welcome him home.

He was born on November 20, 1937 to Blanche and Dominick Bove, at their home in Brooklyn, New York. He married Tina Cetti on May 13, 1961. They lived in Brooklyn with their two sons, and then moved to Staten Island.

Frank’s full life included graduating from a community college with a degree in communications. He served in the Army overseas in Verdon, France during peacetime. During that time, he visited his mother’s sister and family in Agropoli, Italy. He worked for Sperry Rand Company, and went on to work for AT&T as a technician until his retirement. His skills and helpful nature led him to continuously provide his family and friends with any electrical help needed, while never asking for any favors in return.

While working at Sperry, Frank was involved in the softball team. He excelled at baseball, and was offered a Triple A contract shortly after he and Tina married. He declined the offer. Frank loved watching sports, especially baseball, boxing, football, and horse racing.

Frank’s enjoyment came from his relationships with family and friends. His close relationships extended beyond his wife and son, to his sister-in-laws and their husbands, nieces and nephews, and many cousins. He kept in touch with many friends throughout the years from work and his years in the Army.

All who knew Frank feel his loss greatly. His sense of humor, friendliness, kindness, and easygoing way, created many happy and joyful moments for all.

Always easy to smile and never wanting to put anyone out, Frank joked with the people he loved most in a truly good-natured way. His life revolved around his devoted wife Tina, his loving son Thomas, his beloved son Dominick, and his family and friends. Frank will be missed dearly, remembered fondly, and we will always feel his presence in our hearts.

I was honored to have Frank as my Godfather. He was and will always live eternal in my heart. I will cherish the good times we had living in Brooklyn just a block from each other! Rest in peace, my dear cousin! Love, Allen

Frank was like a father to me since I had lost mine at a very young age. He always greeted me like I was someone special, and to him I felt special. He always involved me in his work and taught me about wiring and communications. I enjoyed spending time with him and will miss him terribly. I am relieved that he is finally at peace because these last few years have been less than comfortable for him. Always depending upon others to do simple things and not having any quality of life. My buddy will always be in my heart, my prayers and in my thoughts... R.I.P.
